AEC Windows and Doors not cutting through walls

Hello i looked through similar posts and did not find an answer. I have used 3DS Max since it 3D Studio 1.0. I have also used AEC windows, doors and walls for most of that. At work we just upgraded from Max 2019 to 2022. And now my Windows and Doors do not always cut through the walls? And its random. If i move a window maybe another one will cut through and then the one i moved stop cutting. Then the door cuts through and then not. It seems to be mostly troublesome on a thick wall (28"). my other walls unless i am missing something are all cutting through(5").

Using Windows 10 Enterprise and Max 2022 (24.0 - 24.3.0.3404). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

@quentin.holmes here's a Screencast for adding windows and doors I created some time ago.  Remember to set the snaps as noted and use "click-drag-click" and not "click-click-click". Please excuse me if you already know these tactical details for adding windows and doors to a wall.

Hello,

Yes i have looked at similar videos. The link you gave me did not work.. well the video did not. But i re-watched another one. I added a new door to my wall that is giving me issues. And it worked fine.. then i copied that door to make another and the original stopped working again. I have been using walls. doors and windows for at least 20 years. Never had an issue. And i just copy the Door, wall and window objects around. they have always worked perfect.. I have saved copies of the common sizes that i use. Makes the whole process easy.

I will redo this entire wall.. to see if i can make it work by creating a new wall, door, window objects for every instance required.. but that will be a huge waste of time.

And why..... do we not have constrain to angle for wall creation yet? I suggested it quite a few years ago and it was received well by who ever i was chatting with supposedly going into the list of requested future options.. I know there would be lots of those. but it seems like such a simple/awesome improvement. I normally trace images for setting up walls. And if i have a CAD using the geometry is messy with all the other 'stuff' that is in a drawing. Holding Shift to constrain to specific angles would make it so much easier.

Thanks

I just tried rebuilding the problem wall with all new objects and so far it has worked. So possibly the new geometry system is not as forgiving of placement. I have noticed that unlike 2019 the wall objects do not update right away when you remove a window or door. so there is something different for sure.

Is there some way to create a door opening with no door? Normally i make a door and shrink the door down to very small and move it into the wall. Maybe there is a better way.. Possibly i could change the material for the door.

Thanks

Here is an update on this issue.

So I am still having this problem. I never used to draw new windows and doors as i had my standard versions saved. I would just copy them around and link them. Worked great. But from 2019 to 2022 some thing broke......

Even if i use a new window. Drawing from scratch using snap points. I get a window at the bottom of the wall that cuts a hole. But of course a window at the bottom of the wall is useless. So as soon as you start moving it from the bottom of the wall I lose my cut out. Seemed to do the same when i made the window taller too. but not sure on that one. So................. this wall already had 3 windows in it. it was number 4 that was giving me problems. I made a new wall and just copied a window over. Linked.. worked great.

So when i run into this i guess i just make a new wall section to keep the number of cut outs low for each wall. In the past i have never had a limitation in how many i could cut out.

Thanks

If you have checked Face as one of the active snaps you should not need to create the window at the wall's bottom edge.
