3dsmax18: Edit mesh doesn't explode to elements

I have this strange behavior in 3ds max 2018, that in previous versions I didn't met.

1.

I filelink from Autocad multiple volumes as one single object:

2.

I want to separate this object to multiple volumes (as it is made for) inside 3ds max.

So I assign to it an edit mesh modifier and select everything that I see as elements:

3. I press the explode button with 100 as a value.

As you can see it didn't explode to elements but in faces... 😞

Instead in previous versions of 3ds max I didn't have any similar problem.

With the same procedure I succeded to explode everything into

selectable solids:

Can somebody tells me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

Are you trying to detach them into separate objects? or detach them into elements within the same object?

Hello Fadhil.

I am trying to detach to separate objects.

In 3ds max 2012 I could do it easily,

Now in 3ds max 2018, I can't...

Is something changed?

thx.

Petros.

I am not familiar with EDITABLE MESH as I work only with EDITABLE POLY, PATCH, SPLINES, but I just tried it and succeeded. I read about it from AUTODESK'S

http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/16/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-3CBF3773-3CDC-4ED7-8C3...

and from what I understood, I set the angle at 91, and it exploded into separate objects (boxes instead of individual polygons).

Check out both attachments for before (1 Object with multiple elements) and after (individual boxes as separate objects) of this actions.

I tried with the value 91, nothing happens.

It keep selecting only faces and not entire solids...

Maybe it's a general setting for 3ds max 2018

that I changed and I don't know what...
