3ds Max 2017 Vertex selection Defect for cross cursor

The vertex is not selected when the cross is precisely superimposed on vertex, but is selected when the cursor is moved down. It is necessary to catch the possibility of selection.
More clearly seen on the video in attached file.

I am having the same exact issue. Not sure what is causing it. Any answers people? I am in 3dsmax 2019
