Everyone who works with Max encounters the dozens of different pop-up windows (UV-editor, environments, render settings, frame buffer, etc.) and may often find themselves juggling around a bunch of open windows. I think it is a waste of time to move, resize and open multiple windows when their arrangement is lost upon closing them. Therefore, I propose to have preset and configurable workspace tabs, like Blender. This would reduce pop-up windows as they can be docked in the UI and called upon by opening a tab. Each workspace should also be hotkeyable from a menu and hotkeys. For example, the material/ shader workspace could be opened by pressing "m" which instead of the material window, opens the workspace with a preconfigured window for material editing and, for instance a 3d viewport.
