Orbit Point Of Interest / Auto Grid option to include Frozen and Filtered objects

Orbit Point Of Interest / Auto Grid option to include Frozen and Filtered objects

Currently scene nodes that are either Frozen or excluded by the Selection Filter will not register when orbiting in the viewport using Point-Of-Interest mode, or creating scene nodes with Auto Grid. This can cause frustration in many situations, for example, in the attached video attempting to orbit a mesh object is fine until you wish to create/manage many objects on the surface of that mesh, for example Shape objects, and you don't wish to select the mesh object accidentally.

There are two options:
• Use Selection Filter to only select Shapes.

• Freeze the mesh object.

But both of these option are causing problem when trying to orbit around points on the mesh surface:

In both cases the orbit point is no longer registring the mesh object. To handle this situation you need to either:
    • Manually switch orbit mode to something other than Point-Of-Interest, which often require you to find an appropriate selection to be efficient.

    • Unfreeze/Freeze the mesh object every time you wish to orbit the scene (not really a viable solution).

Same scenario when using Auto Grid.

It is understandable that this design can be useful in some situations, but there should be options for orbiting and Auto Grid respectively where users can choose whether to exclude frozen or filtered objects. Because it's more likely you stick with one "mode" for a longer period of time, than having to constantly change navigation mode or unfreeze/freeze object every time you orbit or use Auto Grid. If the current way is default, an option will allow those who don't need to change the current behaviour to keep things as they are.

3ds max navigation system is in dire need of improvement, and this should be considered a crucial part of that improvement.

I'm planning to do a general idea bout Autogrid improvements (and fixes) and other similar functionalities. Do You have any other suggestions on this matter?
