Hi,
I've been referred to the ideas section in my post here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-forum/jt-file-import-issues/m-p/7732282/highlight/false#M1539...
The user from Autodesk said it would be very low hanging fruit to implement this.
The problem is happening when importing JT files from Solid Edge. Any duplicate model within the JT file is automatically instanced without any option to prevent instancing on import. This is useful sometimes, but i almost always need to have no instances because it's keeping me from using the colors which i assigned in Solid Edge. e.g. Box 1 is red, Box 2 is green and Box 3 is blue in Solid Edge. In 3Ds Max, they're all red because of the instancing.
Attached is a JT file for you to inspect. Models that are duplicated in Solid Edge are automatically instanced on import to 3Ds Max. I would like to have a check box so I can elect to prevent instancing when importing JT files to 3Ds Max.
Thanks very much!
