Buttons to Lock All Transform components in one go

Buttons to Lock All Transform components in one go

For those who like to prevent accidental moving of objects the ability to lock transforms is useful, but the current UI functionality is tedious to work with because it requires the user to uncheck each axis one at the time. It is often the case that you wish to lock everything or all axes at once, and not everyone can or want to resort to scripting to solve this.

• I suggest the addition of two main buttons that locks or unlocks everything (all axes on Move, Rotate and Scale).

• I also suggest smaller buttons that can lock all axes on individual transform components, so if you want to lock just Move then you click the lock button to the right in that section. These smaller buttons will work so that if not all axes are checked, pushing the button will check all the axes, while if pushing the button while all axes are checked, all the axes will be unchecked. Such functionality provides a quick intuitive management without adding multiple buttons or submenus of some kind.

The buttons provide a visual feedback to the user that there is some additional functionality besides the checkboxes themselves and the icon should be quite explanatory.

• Another solution that does not involve any additional UI elements would be to give the same functionality as the button in the above example, but to simply right-clicking on the checkboxes themselves. The downside to this would be that this functionality would not be obvious to users who don't know it. I think for this reason that the previous suggestion with the visible buttons is a better option.

In addition same functionality should be added to the Inherit rollout as well.

Also it would be even nicer if you can add these lock/unlock buttons to a quad menu.

there are a lot of free scripts that do that currently...
