Which 3d max was the last one with perpetual licenses

Hello, I wanted to know if 3d max 2017 was with a perpetual license in a boxed edition, or 3d max 2015 was the last one with a boxed edition.

I read on the Internet that since January 31, 2016, Autodesk has stopped selling new perpetual licenses, I wondered if 3d max 2017 was released with perpetual licenses, or 3d max 2016 was the last product with perpetual licenses

perpetual licenses are not directly tied to a special 3ds Max version

I'm still on perpetual licence on my 3ds Max 2021 version

but this august 2020 was the last month it was possible to renew an existing perpetual license

Update Oct. 2021:

I have to correct my previous statement (see below) about 3ds Max 2021 being the last version that can operate under perpetual license. At the current state i run my 3ds Max 2022 under perpetual license. My perpetual contract was valid till summer 2021. This was AFTER 3ds Max 2022 got released.

I simply installed and activated my 3ds Max 2022 version shortly before my perpetual license ran out.
I did not renew the perpetual contract, as i heard from other people that  renewing it at this point (2021 or later),  might actually switch you over to a subscription which would render your perpetual license invalid. As nobody from Autodesk or the Dealer was able to clarify this to the people who explicitly asked for definitve answers on this matter , thats my current assumption too

So - at this point i would say that you definetly cannot operate any upcoming Max version under perpetual license, so 3ds Max 2022 looks like the last version this was possible.

If any other info becomes known, i'll gladly correct this statement again 🙂

So that means in fact that the upcoming 2022 version ( due to april 2021 i assume  ) will not be able to be operated under perpetual license in any way ... so i would say 3ds Max 2021 is ultimately the last version that was able to use perpetual license ( until they change their minds in favor of the user, which is highly unlikely )
