Ways to cloth.

Hello folks.

There are several ways to do cloth simulation. I've been told that Marvelous Designer would be the best approach and at some point I will try to poke around in it, but how about solutions that max can provide?

Apart from modeling or sculpting folds by hand, there are Сloth modifier, mCloth in massFX and tFlow stuff (anything I missed?). What would be the best solution for making objects covered or wrapped in fabric, plastic and what are strengths and weaknesses of mentioned max tools?

Obvious answer is to try them all of course, but I suspect each is a rabbit hole that goes quite deep and my time and energy can't handle full research of all of it.

What you describe sounds like you do not need the actual animation but only the final (static) draping result?

Not sure mCloth is really that useful; I would go with the Cloth modifier, just to keep things simple.
