Using Max with no internet?

I'm wanting to cut off internet to my computer so it can't connect at all.

Why?

So I'm using Win 7 Pro 64 (tied to hardware) which support has ended.  And I don't like having to run and pay for anti-virus.  Seems like it just keeps getting slower with time. My old workstation was built without even a NIC so it could never connect to internet and it always worked great. Still does after 16 years.

Since tasks needing internet access can be done elswhere my current PC doesn't really need internet.....or does it?

I'm trying to determine if any of my already installed and activated software on it requires internet and since this is the 3ds Max forum I'm asking about Max here.

Does Max need/check for internet at any point when using it?   Next boot, or a month or a year down the road is it suddenly going to need internet?

I'm talking about perpetual license not the subscription.

Thank you for any help.

Hi,

You do not need to be connected to the internet to use 3ds Max with perpetual license. The initial activation can be done offline as well if needed.  I have noticed that launch is a bit slower as it does try to "call home". 😉

I do believe, however, that for subscription you must connect at least once per 30 days.

That is the way it works with the Adobe so-called "cloud". All the applications reside in your local hard disk, and the only cloud operation, to verify your subscription, is done once a month.
