Unwrap background maps problems

Hey, I have a small problem. I don't have some of the textures that have been used when unwrapping some meshes in the file I'm working with right now. Max keeps trying to access these files, found on some network location that it can't find. This results in a lock-up almost constantly, and I can't seam to find a way to get these texture references out of the scene.
I tried merging the mesh into a new file. Didn't work.

Try this - on a copy of the file.

Open the scene, open the Material Editor > Utilities > Reset Material Editor Slots. Close the ME.
Select all (Ctrl-A), open the Maxscript listener and type in the following

for f in $ do f.material=undefined

Save the scene, close Max. Reopen Max and the scene and with any luck it should load as normal. Obviously you will lose ALL materials and material assignments by doing this.

If you still get the same problem then the missing maps are being used elsewhere, e.g. a Projector Map in a Light. I don't know of an easy way to find those, I'm afraid.

Ok, I'll try that when the problem comes up again (which it will, without doubt, within the next 2-3 hours :S)...

thanks 🙂
