Transform gizmo not displaying

My 3DS Max 2016 application crashed and when I restarted it my transform gizmo was gone. Show Transform Gizmo is on according to the Views menu. My keyboard shortcut list shows 'Transform Gizmo Toggle Shift+Ctrl+X' but when I try this nothing happens. I use this a lot and it was working fine before the crash. My keyboard Ctrl, Shift and X keys are definitely working. Has anyone any ideas how I might fix this other than reinstalling the program?

You should check the Gizmo-Settings in "Gizmos"-Tab in  the "Preferences Settings" -  Shift+Ctrl+X is the same as activating the Gizmo-Display there.

Err, actually I have been incredibly stupid! I almost don't want to admit my mistake. I had the Select Tool active and not one of the Transform Tools! Sorry folks.
