Strange transform gizmo's behavior while mouse pointer is near by

Hello!

Here is my problem with the transform gizmo - it changes orientation while I have my mouse pointer on it. Please, check the attached video, you can clearly see it there. It happens when multiple objects/subobjects or closed group is selected. Disorientation of the gizmo is not connected with orientation of the objects and it looks the same as on video no matter how the selected objects oriented. It happens if the reference coordinate system set to View.

It's pretty annoying when I can't "catch" the axis along which I'd like to transform my objects. The same happens with rotate and scale gizmos.

I've been getting this as well. I have to chase it around and it will finally stop in one place long enough to use it. I can't figure out what triggers it to misbehave. I'm wondering if it might be related to my 3dConnexion device. Do you use one of their 3d mouse products?

I had the same issue while trying out the 2023 version, and I had to roll back to 2021 (the 2022 version had problems with losing customization settings, conflicts with vray- if I remember correctly). This problem will affect your work a lot because we work with gizmo most of the time. Wondering if autodesk knows and finds a way to fix it ? Otherwise, it makes no sense to keep releasing new versions with new features because no professional user or company wants to waste time on such issues, time is money right?

All programs have little annoyances from time to time. Whether it is Maya, Blender, C4D or whatever, there are things that are funky from time to time. Software is always in development, will always have bugs here and there and there are millions of different machine configurations that can have conflicts. The axis issue affects me from time to time but it's not bad enough to warrant having the opinion that the entire program is somehow fundamentally defective.

I'm guessing there is something else on your machine/s that adds to the issue. If you have multiple workstations, there may be some other program that they all share that makes the issue occur on all machines more than most people. I'm a prfessional user and company who has used Max wonderfully for nearly 30-years. I don't feel like it's ever been a waste of time or money. And each new release brings tools that enable to me to work faster and more effeiciently thus increasing my profit margin. The new Booleans in 2024 are one of those ground breaking new improvements that is a game changer. It way outweighs any periodical problem  with catching the axis.

But back on track, you didn't respond to my question about a 3dConnexion device. Do you have one? The thing to do here is to try to solve this one small problem by focusing on it.

Thank you RobH2 for your reply!

I use Razer Deathadder Elite mouse. I don't have any 3dConnexion devices.

I work on a single computer, and I don't have any shared programs  with any other computers.

Yes  shirouzuHDNCC, unfortunately 3DS Max's bugs are making headaches to us quite often. Hope this problem could be fixed and will be fixed soon.

Have you reported it as a Bug? The more people who report it the more likely it moves up the list of fixes.
