Splitting a rigged skin

Hi,

I have a character which is fully rigged, however, the clothes and the body are all part of the same skin.

Is there a way where I can keep the rig in tact and split the clothes from the body? (keeping the 'clothes' rigged just able to be individually selected)

Thanks,

Ed

Try making 2 copies of the character and deleting the clothe on character and the body from the other. This will sure affect the skin modifier but try it for testing.

Thanks for the reply. I tried out your idea and it worked.

I ended up copying the skin and converting the copied item to an editable mesh.

I then deleted all parts that were not clothes and repositioned the remaining over the original skin.

I saved the envelopes from the original skin and then converted the clothes to 'skin'.

I loaded the saved envelopes onto the clothes and then it all worked as I desired.

Many thanks for the help
