Hello and greetings I have this issue with soft selection it is not showing or it is not working properly. When soft selection is activated it should show 4 different colors blue, light blue ,yellow, and red in my 3ds max it only shows 2 blue and red and it is not performing correctly take a look at the picture I have enclosed. Hope someone have an answer for this issue.

Thank You.

If you increase the distance of your soft selection do you see a broader range of colors?  It looks like you have such a short distance of effect that you only have your selected vertices and then the rest are outside of your threshold.

Is it just that file or that version of Max?

@Anonymous

Do you have edge distance checked?  This can affect the region selected as well.

I can confirm soft select works in Max 2020 for me as expected.

Does your soft selection issue happen only in that file, or all files? Does it happen in just that version of 3ds Max, or other versions as well?

A screen shot of your soft selection settings would also help us narrow things down, as we are just guessing at images. You could have Pinch and Bubble settings that are causing a strange curve. You could also have a mesh that was scaled non-uniformly and no Reset XForm done on it, that will cause incorrect Soft Selection results as well. Even a uniform scale will cause issues in how far it spreads. Combine the two and you will get stranger than anticipated results.

Thank you for your response but I think what you said about if it works with other project or other software, I think it is only that project because I made a box with vertices and run a test with soft selection and it works right. So it is that project in particular that it is not working with soft selection.
Thank you .
