slicing and rendering

Hello,

I slice and shell the 3d structure I have created, but the rendering provides me back the whole structure as well as I lose the slicing in the original file.

Should I set any option for rendering the sliced structure?

If you have sliced and then hiden the part you don't want it will appear in the render. Instead hiding, delete it. Using a edit poly you can do the operation reversible.

Hi,

I do 'remove bottom' so the part disappear and then the full structure appears in the rendering.

How can I remove a part that is not visible?

Thank you

If what has happened is hide go to face or element sub object mode and use the button unhide all. Double check anyway.

If you have used the button remove and that section could be that is deleted. But for deleting a part is simply better to use the delete button and not remove. Remove is normally used to remove loops only.

If it is easy  for you undo what you did, redo the slice, select the faces you don't want and use the delete button. It should not give any problem.

If you can not find a solution or repeat the operation is too much work  send a sample file of the problem

Even if I slice and save without rendering I lose the slicing.

Please have a look at my file.

Thank you

Very long stacks can make the object unstable and can act randomly. In top of that your full model is an active turbo smooth of nearly 4 millions of polys, that can create big delays

You have also added the skin modifier in top, not sure for what but it can add more processing time.

If you want to keep that polycount simply keep a copy of your file, go to the skin modifier and right click mouse, use the option "collapse to" that will collapse until the slice modifier.  As alternative you can simply collapse all. In the render perhaps you want to be sure the Art renderer is selected. IN any case simplify the stack to the essential you need.

Notice that if you have selected a element of the stack that is below the slice it could render the object before the slice..

Then it should render without problems:
