Hello @Anonymous,

Is that happening when you start 3ds Max?  There is a minor issue for some people where the 3ds Max process is staying in memory.  There is a link here on how to fix it.  Thing is.. not sure what that has to do with Servers if it's the same issue.  Can you expand a bit on this?   Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous,

Can you please expand on this a bit?  What are you doing when this happens?  Is it coming from Windows?  Is there a 3dsmax.exe process in memory when this error happens?   Should there be?

Just trying to get more information.  I wonder what the 'server' in this case is.  Thanks for any details.

Good morning Alfred

Yes I would be happy to expand on this. This error comes up every time I fire up Max. This is a stand alone max installation. I am on two servers. the main company server and my own server for backburner.  I never had this issue before. We did a server upgrade recently and I will check with I.T. this morning to see what exactly it was. Not sure but it may have started after that.

Maxi s the only program I get this  from.

Hello @Anonymous,

I wonder if the new server is somehow blocking WsCommCntr2.exe.  If you manually stop this process, do the problem persist?  The comm center is the only thing that will try to start before 3ds Max so it seems like it may be at the center of this problem.  (Or rather, it's inability to communicate outward.)  If you close that process and then start 3ds Max, does the problem go away?

There are ways to fully disable the comm center, but it has ramifications for 3ds Max usability.  Let's try killing the process first and see where that leads us.

Thanks Alfred

I did not need to kill the exe. I had our IT guy in last Thursday with other issues. I think i had some other issues. I had a bunch of files synchronizing for external use for some reason which I did not need at all. I fired up Max this morning and had no error. Thanks for you help as always

No problem @Anonymous, I'm glad it worked out!  That was a strange one but seems like it was just a one-off.  Have a great week!
