Scene not showing colour or materials

Hi, I've recently got a model made externally and I've now got the project folder. When I open it, I get bombarded with pop ups which I don't understand. I've got a very top level understanding of 3ds Max.

The issue is no matter what I do, all I can get to is getting the objects to show up but no materials or colour. If I create another file and make objects in there, everything works there as expected, so there must be a setting within this scene that may not be compatible with my current setup.

Any help would be appreciated here. Thanks!

Hi,

I didn't download the scene zip, because it's apparently becoming sketchy to dowload other peoples scene files. Perhaps it isn't, but I didn't download it anyways. The words "bombarded with pop ups" scares me.*

*Autodesk, can you clarify if shared scene files up on here are virus scanned for peace of mind?
Anyways, I digress.

Please try to read the pop ups-next time. So many people don't read the pop ups. It's unseemly.
And you briefly mentioned your system specs without actually mentioning them. That's genius. 🙂

Hi,

I totally get your concern. Yea I think I could have worded thing differently. Anyhow, I've attached images of the pop ups. Hope they are somewhat useful.

For the first image, you need to click on clean corruption and save it again. That is the security feature in 3ds Max to remove malware. The second image is only telling you that the model you got is old and probably has one or two modifiers that are legacy, but nothing that you should worry about. The third image is telling that the scene you opened is using several elements from two renderers, Corona and Vray, in this case, lights and cameras and probably materials. A quick way to fix this is by installing the trials for both renderers and then using the Scene Converter to Convert from Corona or Vray to Physical material.
