Rendering Issue

I am having in issue with 3dsMax 2017.  When I render a bitmap image the image is washed out.  looks like it has been overexposed with a black and whit look.  The image in the viewport looks fine.  Also If there is not material on the object or if I put a material from the material library on the object it look fine.  It only happens to bitmap images.   I have included a picture.  the image in on the plane is a bitmap image the cylinder has a material from the material library, and the chess piece has nothing on it.  It is 3dmax 2017.  I am a teacher and all the computes in my lab are doing the same thing.  I could use some help in figuring out what's going on.  I have not been able to find any information on this happening on other computers.

I suggest checking under your bitmap settings, in the output tab, if Alpha from RGB Intensity is checked.

That did resolve my issue.  I don't normally the slate editor.  I looked for the Alpha from RGB Intensity box in the material editor, which I typically use.    If I could ask you for one more bit of information.  If the Alpha from RGB intensity is in the material editor where would I find it?

Again thanks so much for helping out.  I am a teacher and use this software in my computer lab, so I have a lot of students that are going to benefit form your help.

Ok you can count this one done.  I kept playing with the material editor and came to realize my issue was I was applying the bitmap to the color option instead of the diffuse option. As soon as I attached the bitmap through the defuse everything was fine.  Thank you for giving me a place to look.  I would have never figured this out without your help.
