Hi,

Hoping some of you guys can help.

'm just about to rebuild my 3DS MAX machine (3DS MAX 2018 and rendering with Arnold) and have the choice of two graphics cards. Both are in use in different machines but I can easily swap them over, I just need to know which one will deliver the best performance for my primary machine.

Option 1:

nVidia Quadro K4000 with 3GB GDDR5 memory and 768 CUDA Cores.

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/content/PDF/data-sheet/DS_NV_Quadro_K4000_OCT13_NV_US_LR.pdf

Option 2:

nVidia Quadro 6000 with 6GB GDDR5 memory and 448 CUDA Cores.

I use three monitors usually so my preference is for the K4000 as it supports 3 displays but is has half the memory of the 6000. I also have a Quadro 2000 I can plug into the machine with the 6000 to maintain the 3 monitor setup.

The k4000 has more GPU cores so again looks better but not sure what is more important to MAX, memory or number of GPU cores?

I also appreciate performance is heavily linked to drivers so which one will have better support from nVidia/Autodesk is another consideration.

Any Thoughts?

Machine Specs:

HP Z800v3
CPU: 2 X 6 Core Xeon x5660
RAM: - 48GB DDR3
HDD: SSD
PSU: 850W
OS: Win 10 Pro
