Problem with the view from Vray Physical Camera since added HDRi

Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a problem with the view from the physical camera (Vray) I created for my scene since I added an HDRi (with Vray Light Dome)

Basically now, when I click into the view from the physical camera, I don't see my scene with the furniture, etc, I just see the HDRi as if there was nothing (Picture1). Same when I try to render.

When I use the dolly camera to move my camera view, it just goes through my scene and I see part of the furniture and part of the HDRi mixed up. (Picture 2)
Even when I remove the HDRi, it doesn't come back to normal.

When I go back to perspective view, I get the view I should get with the camera view. (Picture3)

Has anyone encountered the same problem or would know how to fix that?

Thank you very much for your time and help!!

Miriam

PS: I use 3ds Max 2017 with Vray 3.4

Hi,

Try adjusting (closer to center of scene) or removing the camera target. I can't tell but the target may be way past your scene center. I generally don't use a target. If that's not the issue post the scene so someone can take a closer look. 🙂

Hi Daf,

Yeah I've tried adjusting the target or even removing it but nothing changes.
But I'll post the whole scene here, you're right it'll be easier for people to help.

Thanks very much!

Okay - so I had the same issue, I think the camera settings may be the issue. Easier to create a new one from perspective view. Try this - get your perspective view as close as you can to what you want then click Ctrl+C to create a physical camera of that view. Now you can tweak on the settings  - be careful as you do so  - check it often to be sure it hasn't gone wonky again. 😉

This will be the Max physical camera - very similar to the V-Ray camera. If you would rather the V-ray then set your keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C to Vray Camera.

Hope that helps - post back if not.
