Problem with chamfer

Good afternoon,

I have a problem with the chamfer modifier, because when I use it, it deforms the object. It happens with all objects that use it.

I've attached an image of the problem.

What I wanted to do was a normal chamfer of the edges.

Thank you.

It may have to do with the topology of the model and how you are using it. Can you upload that model so I can look at it?

yes, but it's not just happening to me with this object. It happens with everything I use Chamfer for.

Something is wrong becasue the 'Chamfer' modifier has had a few upgrades lately and it's pretty sweet. Can you share that original model you showed? I'd like to have a look at it. Without something to inspect, I'm not sure how to help you. The Chamfer modifier works really well so if you are having issues, something else is wrong. We just need to figure out what. A model will help do that.

Which version of Max? It makes a difference because the last few years each release of Max has added new 'Chamfer' modifier improvements.

I believe you were just using the 'Chamfer' modifer incorrectly. I sent a video and a new file you can open and look at. The file is Max 2025. If your Max is earlier, you can just open it and use the video to make the same adjustments. I hope this gets you going.
