Pivot distortion problem affecting F F d modifier

Hi ! When i apply FFD modifier to an object, it's distorted and it seems ,there is nothing wrong with the object pivot, or at least i can not find where the problem is, can you help me? this issue has been tormenting me for a while.

Do you mean that the orange bounding box is rotated?    It's aligning to the objects pivot and direction.   You can delete the ffd, reset the xform, collapse the stack, and reassign the FFD and it should be in line with the shape of the object then.  

 

I suppose you don't *have* to collapse the stack but if you go below the reset Xform and do things it'll lead to headaches.
