MAXScript Debug Dialog Always Loads on Start (2020 / 2019)

Hi there,

Every time 3ds Max starts, MAXscript opens in the background.

I noticed when I Alt-Tabbed. 

In addition to being annoying, it seems to greatly disrupt the performance of 3ds max.

This error happens in both 2020 and 2019 versions.

I already did:

• I did a clean install of windows (twice). Windows is updated to the latest version (1909).

- Reinstall 3ds Max 2020 / 2019 tree times each.

• I changed the Ram memory sticks (24gb total).

• I changed the video card (RTX 2070 super).

• No o scripts are installed (outside of the default installation).

I have already tried the steps suggested in the open posts here in the forum.

Nothing seems to work. tThis error seems to profoundly affect the performance of 3ds max.

Any help on this?

Hello David!

I tried almost every possible solution.

Nothing seems to work.

I have contacted Autodesk several times - but no one has responded yet.

The problem remains - and it does not appear to be hardware related.

Hope someone fix this.

Can you try the following?

1. Go to the Command Panel > Utilities tab > MAXScript.
2. Open the MAXScript Listener window.
3. Click on the Debugger > Debugger Dialog item.
4. When the MAXScript Debugger window opens, click on Config.
5. Make sure the "Stay on Top" button is unchecked.

Of course we have tried.

The problem seems to be deeper - and reaching more people than Autodesk realizes.

This window starts in the background - and is not accessible. Only visible through Alt+Tab.

It is apparently present in versions: 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

I would love to delete it. If it were possible - trying to prevent Debugger from starting - it could somehow solve.

Users from China and Russia report the same problem. Some users from China claim incompatibility with the intalled language pack.
