don't be offended by this...but I look at ppl who use the 'latest' drivers as...........................guinea pigs.
Drivers that are 'older'...have matured/stabilised......early adopters want the latest and greatest....then...bang.....a coupla days later...bugs start appearing, then exploits, worms..
So if you see some s/w company trumpeting the arrival of their latest and greatest (cough: buggy) 'drivers'....sure...go ahead and be a guinea pig...
No offense, but your whole post makes no sense at all.
Before I installed the latest drivers I was using drivers that were 5-6 months old. You can even see them in my signature (I still haven't updated it, I'm lazy). If it wasn't for all the problems with Max 2018, I would have never updated them. Besides, I don't see how is your point valid at all. I've not installed beta drivers but the official WHQL version which is rigurously tested before release so they can work without problems and bugs. I never install anything that is beta, especially drivers (God forbid). So what exactly do you mean by installing "buggy" drivers and being a "guinea pig"? Also, all "old" drivers as you call them were "latest and greatest" at some point in time when they were released. So by this definition, you are also using drivers that were "latest and greatest". "Matured/Stabilised" drivers? What is this, a human being? Drivers are just a piece of non-changing code, not an evolving organism. How can they "mature" and "stabilise" with time? Sorry, but I chuckled here a bit
It's exactly the newest drivers (and software in general for that matter) that are more mature, not older ones.
