Max 2017 reliable unhandled exception during batch process

I am starting Max from the command line with the following options...

%LOCALMAX_ROOT%\3dsmax -silent -q -mi -vx11 -mxs

It will then run the maxscript I specify which processes a large number of files, saving various bakes and scenes along the way. This reliably crashes on the tenth file. Choosing to debug rather than close Max at this point gives me the attached error, picking continue rather than break here allows the batch process to continue as normal and complete.

This needs to be a reliable, unattended process ... any help diagnosing the problem would be appreciated.

I have pasted some Windows Event Viewer data below
