(Issue) View Cube will not pivot selection in orthographic view

Is there a way to get the navigation pivot to snap to my current selection when in orthographic mode while rotating around using the view cube? I've included a video that I recorded to sum up the entire issue. It works perfectly fine in Perspective view but not in orthographic which is kind of crazy to me considering ALT+MMB will lock the navigation camera to your current selection in both modes but the viewcube will not?

I've got to be doing something wrong. This is super frustrating to have to reset my navigation camera and move all the way back to where I was every time I need to rotate to another side. I just-about primarily work in orthographic because it's perfect when doing detailing that requires alignment.

Hay ,yeah i have the same issue from time to time. I feel it is a bug. The workarround is to switch to perspective from ortho and back . Than it tends to work for me.  Doent always happen though...

I wish that were the case but this happens for me all the time and there's no way for me to get it to work any other way. (Although it has in previous versions.)

Hello @Anonymous,

The viewcube has some issues I'm afraid.  They have been logged, but remain unaddressed.  My suggestion is to disable the viewcube in general, otherwise this issue of objects rotating out of the viewport will continue.

Best Regards,

Quite frankly, I am glad to at-least get some sort of confirmation that there is a known problem with the view cube. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to notify me of this. I truly understand development priority and I won't push the subject any further. Perhaps I will write a plugin to supplement the functionality until it's been refactored.
