Is there a free version of 3ds max?

I'm neither a student or teacher but don't plan using 3ds max for any commercial use. I just want to learn it for myself in my spare time.

Is there any free version or would Autodesk care about a cracked version in that case?

If i would ever plan to use it for commercial use I would obviously buy the indie Version of the software

But 400€ to just learn it and not have any possibility of making money from it seems a little expensive

No, there are no free licenses outside of education. The indie license is the cheapest available outside of that.

As for cracking the software, that is piracy and Autodesk does take that seriously: https://www.autodesk.co.uk/genuine/frequently-asked-questions

As mentioned by Leo, you should look into 3ds Max Indie here: https://makeanything.autodesk.com/3dsmax-indie . It's not free, but it's very affordable.

If ever other license opportunities become available, we will certainly share those with the public.

As for cracked software: Please refrain from discussing the acquisition or distribution of pirated software. Not only is it illegal, but it undermines all the work we put into providing software to the world. Our developers work long and hard to bring you amazing tools, and they deserve to get paid for their efforts just like everyone else.
