Import multiple objects in alignment next to each other

Hi,

Is there a way to import into 3ds max several objects in .obj format at the same time and in a way aligned one next to the other like in the picture?

It sort of overrides the point of having a pivot it seems.  You might be able to use a simple script to place them as you want once imported, offset by a few units for each object in the selection.  If you are unsure how to do it, the folks in the 3dsmax scripting subforum sure are helpful.
