I want to create this matal handle , the leaf in the red circle , I used arc line to draw the middle of those leaves  , called stems?? I don't know , just something like this pic 2  ,then I crosssection those  stems but always connected wrong vertex and I surface it ...It also cannot create the shape that I want ...

Did I do some mistakes of my step?? THX

Hi,

For the Surface modifier to work you need a closed shape made of 3 or 4 edges, it will not work if you

Have more than 4.

The vertices don't need to be welded, you can have two vertices on top of each other, what matters is that

They are in the same position.

Hello miledrizk , thanks ur comment ...

I tried to close the shape , it's work but I ve no idea when I used Crosssection to create the mesh , I clicked the first spline to the second one , it's ok , and then I keep on using this tool and clicked the second to third spline , the mesh lines are connected from first to third spline automatically , I m little bit confuse on this , cos I saw some tutorial videos  . They are all cords of order  ... thx.

As you can see some splines are created in a mess , I ve trimed them already , this will result the broken surface when I drag the move tool ...

The cross section modifier respects the order of attachment . So you need to be careful when attaching the shapes that you're attaching them in the same order you want them connect before adding the cross section modifier.
