How to attach/group multiple objects/polygons?

Hello again,

I've imported a building from SketchUp into 3DS Max but it comes in as separate parts.  I want to be able to select all the objects and group or attach them together in one quick action. I know I can attach them one by one when as an editable poly using the attach button but I can't seem to do that by selecting them all at once.

Thanks for your help.

Nevermind I figured it out, just use the group tab... Didn't even realize that was there.

Once you have the objects selected you can click "attach" but once you click that you need to click it again and it will look like it deselected the attach button but it attaches all of the objects.

Hi @Anonymous,

Just reviving this old thread to note that you can use the following to combine objects:

  1. You can parent all child objects to a primary object.
  2. You can use File > Group
  3. You can Attach objects together
  4. You can use the Collapse utility in the Command Panel > Utilities tab to combine all objects into a single object. (If you need to separate them again later, you'll need to go to Sub-Object: Element mode and detach them.)

Hope this helps!
