How do i rotate the viewport around selected geometry?

I can't seem to figure out how to orbit around chosen geometry, and the viewport only seems to be able to orbit around a point in space. In the example included, i'm trying to rotate around the point on my model. I thought it was the orbit command, but that has yielded no results.

Using orbit selected or orbit sub-object may be of help to you.
