HELP, Material Editor is missing? Autodesk Maya 2018 Student version

New to Autodesk and have recently installed the student software, was hoping to texture my model but am unable to find the Material editor selection, all tutorials online, seem to have a visible tool icon for it, I'm lost.

you do relise/relize you posted this in the 3ds max community right? are you having problem with a maya and importing into 3ds max?
