getting a strange glare on quicksilver render

Can someone give me a suggestion of where to look for what is causing this issue.

(Note this only happens in render output file not screen render)

These are things I have checked

1. rendered without any lights

2. Turned material reflection down

3. Changed file output gamma to 2.2 instead of auto

Hi again!

I got your file from Hagen and in my testing I found that both of your problems are coming from the Indirect Illumination. If I turn that off I don't have any flickering shadows or bright spots flashing when I render a sequence.

If you feel your image is to flat without Indirect Illumination you can always increase the intensity and radius of the Ambient Occlusion.

If you need to have Indirect Illumination for your render, then I'd suggest two things that may help. One, reduce the Sample Distribution Area and the other is to increase your Iterations. I did a test of a few frames at 1024 iterations and although there was still some flickering, it seemed to be reduced.  You could do some testing with exaggerated Iterations (I.e. 2048 or more) and different values of the Multiplier and Sample Distribution Area and see of that helps.

In the meantime I will try and find out if there is anything else than can help rendering with Indirect Illumination.

Regards,

Carlos

Great! thanks Carlos! I never use Indirect Illumination. I must have accidentally checked it. Maybe my render time will even decrease.
