Garuanteed crash exporting a Body Object as .glb or .gltf - 3DS Max 2024

To reproduce:

- Import a CAD model as Body Object (or place a cube and convert it to Body Object)

- Assign a Physical Material or CoronaMtl

- Export as GLB

- Crash

Interestingly, it works fine without a material

and works fine with a regular Mesh with any material assigned.

Version: 3ds Max 2024
Plugins: Corona Renderer 10 beta, Forest Pack, Railclone, Vray Trial

Yes, I can confirm that I crash as well. I have VRay but used a Physical Material. And it appears to be that unique combination only as other exports seem fine. But if it's a 'Body' object with a Physical Material applied, CRASH...

Search here about how to submit a Bug Report and please do that. Also, when Max crashes, take the time to fill out the Crash Report you get as those do get read by the development team. I did it when mine crashed. The more attention this gets the faster it might be corrected for the first patch we'll likely see soon.

Hi @willchocks,

Thanks for sharing your issue with us.
Sorry to learn you are experiencing this.

My understanding is 3ds Max does not fully support .gltf export at this time.

Were you aware of the following workarounds?

1.Export as FBX and then use a converter to convert FBX to GLTF.
2.Use the 3ds Max Babylon.js exporter.

We look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks.
Regards,
