Find objects with missing modifier

Anonymous
Not applicable

I just loaded an old project.  I have a missing plugin error.  I have hundreds upon hundreds of objects.

How can I find the objects which use the missing plugin -- it's a modifier (Silaghi's great quad chamfer), but that's all I know.

Max should have a utility to handle this but I don't believe it does, so maybe a scripter guru can help?

here is the website for the plugin https://mariussilaghi.com/products/quad-chamfer some people find paying for a plugin outrageous, the older version will cost you $20 and the newer ones will cost you "40.

You can try Mr.Clean script by Merlin. Check Modifier panel, type Missing OSM  and click check for modifier. Select objects with missing modifier. But select them then what to do? It's up to you.

But easiler is remove all missing plugins in your scene use "Remove missing plugin" button on the right corner. You can easily google to download. One click solutionmrcleanMerlin.jpg

Thanks -- but I can find the plugin online... I bought it a long time ago.  It was very good and worth the price before Max finally included it natively

I just wanted to find the objects so I didn't have to depend on the 3rd party tool anymore.

Thanks Svil -- perfect.  This is exactly the type of tool I needed.

Much appreciated.

Since Max 2016, Max has a built in tool to find missing plugins ( modifiers, texture maps etc )

It's called "Missing Plugin Object Explorer ( Tools->All Global Explorers )

Thank you, I had no idea they had added such a tool.

It's been sorely needed for quite some time, so I'm glad it was finally incorporated.

I don't think this tool is widely known.  How did you find out about it?  Was it actually listed in the What's New section of help?  I don't recall reading about it.
