Exporting 3DS Max File to Blender with correct Layer Hierarchy

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering for a way to export 3DS Max files with Layer Hierarchy and materials to Blender. Till now I have tried the following ways, but without much luck.

1. Exporting as .fbx file from 3DS Max is giving me correct materials and layer hierarchy in Blender, but the objects in the blender scene gets misplaced.

2. When we export as .obj file from 3DS Max it does not respect the layer hierarchy in Blender.

Please let me know if I am following the correct way or if there is a better way then kindly suggest. My organization is in the process of buying licenses for 3DS Max, but this problem is acting as a major roadblock for our work pipeline.

Looking forward to your replies.

Best Regards
