Export object with shader to other Max-file, but NOT with all scene shaders?

Hello,

3dsMax always saves all shaders, which is not good with scenes with large networks,

when I just want to import a simple object with its shader.

So with "save selected as" in reality all bitmap and shader nodes were expoted, not only those related to my selectin.

With export as "fbx" I can't export my shaders.

So which is the solutioj in 3ds Max for this?

Otherwise, how do you handle this in your workflow?

Thanks

I tested now something, that seems to work:

"Export selection as" and saving it as a .max file.

Then not open it like a regular Max file, but instead "Import (Merge)" the .max file.

Then select all objects to import from that scene.

This seems to be importing only those shaders, that are really used. (at least the others weren't anymore visible in the SME)

(But in case there is something else I am happy to learn)
