export mesh with point cache data

A developer is asking me to provide him with a 3d model that has animated verticies.  He wants a .dae file.  Does that format support vertex animation.  My 3d file has a point cache node and I have exported it using the 3ds max exporter with animation checked.  He say there is no animation in the file.  Is what he is requesting not possible, or am I doing something wrong when I export the mesh?

I think that he wants to use the exported geo in Unity or Web GL

Hello maxehrlich,

Please note that .FBX files should support baked vertex animation data.

Can he try exporting as an .FBX file with animation checked?

FBX does support baked animation, what I am not sure of is whether the .dae collada format that I am saving using the fbx exporter will have the vertex animation embeded in it.
