what type of VGA card are you using?

what service pack and got fix are you using?

have you updated direct X? if not here is the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35 if you type into the run box dxdiag then click on ok at the bottom it will give you the version number, the newest one is version 11

have you configured your VGA  in max correctly? if not then go to custom, preferences viewports, choose drivers and then choose revert from 3d you will get 3 options open GL, software and direct 3d make sure you have the correct one selected, check your VGA manual once you have then choose ok twice to close down these boxes close down max to take effect. then reload max back up.

I'm not sure why your viewport is slow when you rotate the view all you did is change the display drivers maybe it's just a bug. what version of windows are you using if it's windows 10 then i think it's fully tested on there.

you have to wait until someone else chimes in

Sorry best of luck to you

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

I've read through the thread here and I was hoping you might try something for me, please.  If you got back to DX11 and put an Edit Poly onto the stack, does the problem go away?  I would be grateful if you tried this for me.  Thanks!

Best Regards,
