DXF Exporting stepped "Curves" instead of actual curves

as per title... DXF and DWG exports are producing stepped, tessellated linear approximations of curves instead of actually exporting curves for realsies.

@Rob.c.mayer, I read your post again.  Please clarify, do you want to transfer splines from AutoCAD to Max or vice versa?

 

If from Max to AutoCAD this thread may be of interest.

I'm not trying to transfer from 3ds Max to AutoCAD. As per the title, I'm trying to export a DXF or DWG. Nonethless, the thread is an interesting read, which hints that I'm better off just writing my own export script instead of waiting for Autodesk to fix a problem with their native exporter.
