Desktop App Won't Launch

Hello.  I've done a fresh install of Windows 10 this weekend.  Everything was fine, but the Autodesk Desktop App just will not launch.  I've tried all sorts - unstill/reinstall, run as administrator, running from the installation folder.  Nothing.  I wan't to install Max 2023.1, but that doesn't install manually either.  2023 is installed and runs.
There are lots and lots of errors in the Event Viewer:-

Based on the "Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll" I performed a system file checker (See next paragraph) - It did not solve the problem.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled the Desktop App 😞

Aivar, I owe you some beer!  First try, no messing.  It worked.

So, just to finish this thread - for those that didn't understand:-

Open Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Environment Variables
Click NEW under System Variable

on the top line:  QT_OPENGL

on the bottom line: angle

 

Then reboot.

I figured only I had to be dealing with this issue, so finding this thread was a relief. That QT_OPENGL fix worked beautifully for me; thanks a ton!

I had the exact same issue and thankfully the System Variable fix totally did the trick! I was about to have tho roll back Windows 11 by almost two months; not something you ever want to do lightly.
