cutting an object in half

Hello,
I have worked with 3D Max a while ago. I picked it up again and I was working on a simple project. I need to remember how to split an object in half. I want to delete half of what I've made and then mirror it so that what I modify will be echoed on the other side. Problem is I can't remember how to delete half of what I've made.

Or the Slice Plane (if it's an Editable Poly).

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

Or better yet, a Symmetry modifier. Mirrors the geometry from one side, and removes the mesh from the other.

Hi @Anonymous,

Reviving this old thread to note that using a Slice modifier, followed by Mirror (and then checking the face normals) or using the Symmetry modifier can allow you to cut an object in half and then mirror it along your desired axis.
