crazy rotate angles on slice plane modifier

hi,

putting a slice plane modifier on an  extruded spline, i need to put 45 degree mitre cuts on it, when i rotate the slice plane 45 degrees you can see that it does not correctly rotate the slice plane 45 degrees, if it did , it would be aligned to the diagonal on the pink square,

this is crazy.....
how does this happen???

thanks

Tom

Because you non-uniformly scaled your geometry on object-level and slice is a object-space modifier,i guess?

Take a look: to the left the object is using x-form modifier for scaling, to the left i used the NU-scaling tool.

To remove transforms on object level from an object you can use the Reset XForm utility.
