corona to vray cannot relink bitmaps

Hi guys I got a file converted from corona to vray. Just tried to relink bitmap and it didn't work, even if I link exactly the folder where the maps are exactly there. This never happens to me before so I just wonder if it's a matter of the conversion from corona to vray and if there is any solution for that https://vlc.onl/ ?

Hello,

Method 1: Check the file paths of all maps using the Asset Tracking window (Shift + T). From here you can update your missing or misdirected files.
Add the necessary map options again using the "Bitmap/Photometric Paths" window.

Method 2: Using V-Ray Material Converter or similar tool, you can properly convert Corona materials to V-Ray materials.

Method 3: Using 3ds Max's own Scene Converter tool, you can try to automatically convert the scene from Corona to V-Ray. This tool can also fix map links.

Enjoy your work.

It sounds like the issue could be due to how Corona and V-Ray handle materials differently during conversion. Here are a few things to try:

  1. Check Paths: Ensure all texture paths are correct. Sometimes absolute vs. relative paths can cause issues.
  2. Format Compatibility: Make sure the bitmap formats are supported by V-Ray.
  3. Manual Relink: Try manually reassigning textures in the Material Editor.
  4. Convert Textures: If the original textures are in a format specific to Corona, convert them to common formats like .jpg or .png.

If that doesn’t help, using a plugin like "Relink Bitmaps" could work.
