Connection between camera and perspective

I've been working with 3ds Max for a while now, but I still haven't figured out why the connection from the camera to the perspective sometimes gets lost. Normally you can switch between C + P without changing the view.

I don't know what it is and how I can reconnect.

Maybe there is someone who knows about it.

In newer versions of Max if you have eg. Perspective view in some other tab than pressing "P" in maximized Camera view will switch to that other  tab - not turn Camera to perspective view.

Don't believe it is desired behavior cause, according to the Listener, same command giving different results depending on how we call it.

I have tested your advice, and it happens indeed during the viewport is maximized.

Now, I know finally, how I can avoid it, when I change the view with P or C.

I too have found this behaviour very annoying. Besides not trying to change from 'Camera' to 'Perspective' when in viewport Maximised mode, is there any way to permanently disable this "helpful" viewport recycling "feature"?

Remembering not to press 'C' or 'P' when the viewport is maximised is not a valid solution IMHO.

Paste this line:

                          max vpt persp user

in the script editor, select the text and drag And drop it to some toolbar,

than make shortcut for it (P)

Macro will be in DragAndDrop category, named MacroBiggest/latest number you have

You can delete Macro button from toolbar

There's no really need for do anything for C but command is:

max vpt camera
