Clay mode missing edges

It seems this is a just a 'thing' with Max. Is there anyway of fixing it?

Does it on Geforce 980, and the 2080 RTX in work in 2020 and numerous previous versions. Rotating around the object in textured/clay/solid/wireframe mode, edges pop in and out, no matter on zoom levels. It's really confusing when checking meshes.

Why should the edges just disappear, popping in and out, with diagonal lines appearing incomplete?

You rotate round it and the edges reappear. It's like it's glitching. All the edges are present, they sometimes just don't display.

Everything is up to date (drivers and max etc).

Never seen anything like that in any version of 3dsmax.

Can you post the file for me to check? Does this happen with different display drivers too?
