It depends on which type of cache you are talking about. Assuming you mean the 3ds Max system "temp" locations then you can change it in "Customize > Configure User and System Paths". From there you can change the location of the Hardware Shaders Cache, Page File, and Temp folder.
Thank you Ben!
I think that is what I need it.
I installed a special, faster, SSD that is intended only for temp and cash files so that I would not additionally load the system disk or the disk on which my project files are located.
If I managed to clarify, is that all or is there something else I should change in the settings?
Thanks
This should be everything for the core 3ds Max software. Some plug-ins though have their own cache, like Max Fluids, that would need to be manually set.
I would also check your Windows Environment Variables. I don't normally change this but you could also point the Windows Temp folder to your SSD. Should be ok but if anyone knows better please chime in.
Thank you very much for your help!
Here are my settings from Windows Environment Variables.
Did you say to change the windows temp form here?
A can see here some temp paths from 3ds Max and Vray.... do I need to change it from this panel too?
Hi,
vRay and Corona will use all available allocated RAM, then cache to the swap file or pagefile. The location is usually your boot drive (C). It is a much better idea to install more RAM than to start trying to make up for insufficient RAM through manipulating Windows default settings. But if it really has to be done, then here is a quick guide. Please note setting the wrong settings can make your system highly unstable and it can be hard to return things to their prior state if you have changed lots of things in sequence (speaking from experience hehe):

Don't change those environment variables for the paths for 3ds Max and V-Ray. Those tell Windows where those applications are installed.
Maybe I would change the location of the "TEMP" and "TMP" to somewhere on your SSD drive. Should be fine but again I haven't done that in many years and I can't say for sure that it will be 100% ok.
