Chamfer at Edge Not working

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to add a chamfer to just an edge of a cut sphere. I notice with the same settings a chamfer occurs in the center of the sphere but not at the edge.

I know it is possible to add a chamfer to an edge, as it is done in a video tutorial that I am trying to follow along with.

Your chamfer edge needs another defining face.

With the edges you have selected there (in chamfer.png) on the sub object level select border (3) then under edit borders  hit 'cap'. Then switch to edge (2) while still in sub-object mode. With the same edges selected you should now be able to chamfer.

Hey there,

Thanks for the quick responce. I did what you recommended with the cap tool and it did work, however, it created a back face that was undesirable and not what was happening in the tutorial I am following. I have screen shot the reference of the tutorial where he is able to chamfer the back edge corners.
