Cant delete objects

Hi,

I have installed 3dsmax 2021 and this afternoon I have been running into a problem in which Max wont delete anything from the scene (via delete button on keyboard or edit-delete) If I close max down and re open it fixes the problem.

Is this a known issue in the latest release?

Hi James,

Thanks for your question! I don't know of any specific issues with not be able to delete objects in 3ds Max 2021, so it sounds as if there's something odd about your user settings (either corrupted preferences or a workspace/template which is overwriting proper behavior in 3ds Max).

Can you please try the steps in the following?

Reset 3ds Max User Preferences

3ds Max workspace changes do not "stick"

Thanks for the reply.

My workstation has a fresh install of windows and 3DSmax 2021, I also created workspace from scratch and didnt import one from the previous version.

It hasn't done it in the last week but I will try your options just to be sure and hopefully that will sort it.

I am facing the same problem in 3ds max 2021 too. I can't use Delete button on keyboard, but am still able to use edit>delete. I have tried reset UI several times and it didn't work. I checked the hotkeys if I accidently assigned some random keys, but it was not the case either.

I just downloaded the software this morning, and I wonder if anyone's facing the same problem. Anyone has any advice? Thanks in advance!
